After test starts

Once the test has started and you wish to view the logs of the test during or once the vessel has completed the Conformance Test you can click on Logs and CT Trail by the vessel on the LRIT Conformance Test Dashboard

Once the test has passed, you'll be notified via email. If it is a flag we produce Conformance Test Report Certificates (CTR) then please place your order by following this process here. If it is a flag for which we only produce the XML, then no further action is required. The XML will be sent automatically to the flag.

Tips for testing

For testing, there are steps that should be taken in order to reduce the risk of failure:

1.   Check with the manufacturer that the equipment tested including its software/firmware is suitable for use with the LRIT system.

2.   Consider when to start a test. When the vessel is alongside in a port there is an increased probability of communication problems because there is likely to be a high concentration of interference and obstructions.

3.   Ensure the Inmarsat C transceiver remains switched on and logged in to the Inmarsat network during this period. If not, the test will fail immediately.

4.   Advise the master on board that a DNID will be downloaded into the transceiver temporarily for testing and that this should be ignored and not deleted.

5.   Be aware that using the transceiver for messaging / sending telex may interfere with the test.

6.   Remember the test will take approximately 48 hours to complete.
